Shielding Your Transportation
As you learn to navigate the streets of your new home in Las Vegas, you put your vehicle in harm’s way. Unfortunately, simply taking it out of the garage subjects it to the elements, other drivers, even potholes. Take care in shielding your car or truck by choosing wisely which type of auto insurance is right for you.
Now that you’ve relocated to the Las Vegas area, it’s a good opportunity to familiarize yourself with auto insurance availability in Nevada.
Liability Coverage
Most auto liability insurance policies contain the following major parts: liability insurance for bodily injury, dealing with those injured in an accident of your fault; liability insurance for property damage, covering the damage to the cars involved in an accident; and uninsured/ underinsured motorist coverage. It’s very important for you to research the policies offered by your company. The Nevada state law has certain stipulations about the insurance you carry for your car, and it’s imperative that you are covered in the right ways and with the right policies.
Physical Damage Policies
In addition to the basic liability coverage outlined above, the most commonly recognized coverages are collision and comprehensive. Collision coverage pays for physical damage to your car as the result of your auto colliding with an object, such as a tree or another car. This coverage is relatively expensive. This coverage is optional and not required by law. However, if your vehicle is financed or leased, your lending institution may require collision insurance.
